Our immersive hands-on workshop lays the foundation for creating beautiful special-occasion or on-set makeup and styling that photographs well and lasts all day.

This course covers everything from bridal consultations and execution, to building your on-location kit, model prep and photoshoot organization. Cultivate the confidence to deliver your client’s dream look on their big day, confidently book your own set work, or organize your own content shoot.

This is a week-long opportunity to get creative alongside other salon professionals under the instruction of an experienced educator, bridal specialist, and set stylist. You will receive 1-on-1 instruction as well as collaborate with others in the workshop. Days 1-4 will focus on perfecting fundamentals and our final day will conclude with professional headshots and an all-hands-on-deck photoshoot where we learn how to perfect our looks for the camera, pose our models, and get high-quality images for our target audience.

Jess Jannsen has been a professional in the beauty industry for almost 20 years. Her passion lies within education, although she still works with her clients full time. She has worked as a salon owner and educator for over 10 years, educating within her own salons and on a national level. After working as a stylist and owner at Anagen Eleven Salon for 8 years, Jessica felt pulled to establish Remedy Salon, a high-end luxury brand with a focus on education, high-quality services, and an elevated client experience. One of her greatest joys is sharing in creative endeavors and helping others improve their craft, while elevating our industry as a whole. She is so excited to now offer workshops and creative collaboration to other industry professionals.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • The workshop runs from 9-5 Tues-Sat. Please arrive 15 minutes early and be ready to start learning at 9am. We have alot to learn and will be moving quickly.

  • You will need to bring a working kit of your basic salon tools. Everything else will be provided for you.

    *A list of needed supplies will be emailed to you upon registration

  • We will break for lunch, but Remedy Salon will only provide lunch on Saturday for the photo shoot. You will need to bring your own lunch the rest of the week

  • We will be snapping photos and posting our workshop on social media, so please dress professionally.

  • The cost of this week-long experience is $950. That’s just $10/day for this amazing, creative, hands-on opportunity!

  • We will be hosting this event at Remedy Salon in Appleton, Wi. We are located at 660 N. Hickory Farm Lane.

  • Our photographer works hard to make sure we get our photos quickly, but she is busy! She will have thousands of images to go through, so we plan on a 4-6 week turnaround. Your photos and headshots will be emailed to you after the event.
